As nostalgic as we are, the 1990's do not classify under "vintage," just yet... but there is no reason why we cannot take a look back at a true classic, Amy Heckerling's Clueless. If you are not familiar, add it to your queue of films, consider it an introductory course to fashion and American culture.
I have a feeling, however, that if you are reading this blog, you are quite familiar with the film, as we often quote it. Either way, this is a good time to remind you of the "very important designer" (Azzedine) Alaia, and the power of the little Calvin Klein dress (or lack of it). Yes, they are that important.

The Alaia.

The Calvin.

The drama of having nothing to wear.

And a star is born, Alicia Silverstone.

Earlier this month, we had the great pleasure of hosting Liz from Late Afternoon in our store. She wrote a beautiful review and went on to pick out some of our best pieces for a little late afternoon shoot. Click on the photo above for the outfit post, or click the photo below for the review, Cool Finds in Hot Places.

The Fine Art of Design, from its early Flea Market days, rose from a need to collect and showcase talent- whether in the form of a beautifully designed dress, a well written novel, or a striking sound of music. This Saturday, the 25th, our friends, Blackstrap Molasses will be celebrating their album's release: Honeycomb... Sweet to the Soul.

As the heat rises in the desert, we find ourselves looking for any excuse for leave town. This time, we headed over to Solana Beach, where reality consists of perfectly chilly mornings, and even cooler people where ever you go. Check our favorite shots taken at the Tennis Club, and make sure to check the Facebook for the shoots.
